I remember searching high and low to find products that
would help combat the Accutane side effects. I used to find products people
recommend through acne.org and heavily research them to ultimately be
discouraged by the price and fact that I had to order it online. Through a lot
of trial and error, I found products that worked beautifully and helped me get
through it easier. Majority of them are drugstore products that are affordable
too!

My journey with Accutane was full of dryness, blood work, and doctor
visits, but I'd do it again if I had to. I remember what a tiring process it
was to constantly be trying out prescription acne creams and antibiotics, all
to get your hopes up and have it not work. Of course they say to patiently use
it for a long period of time and not expect instant results, but for me, there
was no results at all. I finally got a referral to a dermatologist from my
primary and went in hopeful. The dermatologist examined my face and back and
deemed that I indeed had moderate/ severe acne. We went over my long list of
medications that I tried for acne in the past and he suggested Accutane
immediately. I had done months of research beforehand and agreed. Of course we
talked about side effects and what to expect, but he assured me it would be
fine. My father had severe acne and had to take it as a teenager, so I was
optimistic that this might be my route as well.
